Using Other Methods
If you are a normal household user and not an IT admin in some company, then use these methods to get rid of the McAfee MEE.
• Click on the Start and browse to Control Panel and Add or Remove Programs. Double click on the Add/Remove Program icon. (Windows 7/Vista users can go to Programs and Features through Control Panel> Start menu).
• Locate McAfee MEE from the list of installed programs and then click on the Remove button. When prompted, confirm the removal. Follow the wizard’s instructions to complete the procedure. Reboot the computer when prompted. The removal is still not completed as the traces remain in the form of registry entries and setup files.
• Download a registry cleaner, an automatic tool, and install it using the automatic wizard’s instructions. Save the file to a location where it can be easily accessed from. Thereafter, browse to the location where the file is saved and run the installation. When the installation has finished, initiate the cleaning process. Create a restore point when asked by the tool and begin the procedure. The tool will delete all the empty registry keys of the uninstalled program and repair any corrupted entry or key etc. Any time you feel like undoing the changes, use the restore point in the tool and the things will be back as they were previously.
• If you are still unable to get rid of MEE, then download and install Perfect Uninstaller, a third-party tool that will automatically uninstall all its remnants. When the file has been saved and installed afterwards, start the removal procedure. Open the Perfect Uninstaller window and select MEE from the listed programs. Click on the Uninstall button at the bottom right hand side and start following the instructions. Finish the procedure and reboot the computer when prompted. Your computer is now totally free from MEE.
